Gov. Sule Rallies Support For the Development of NSUK, Pledges 20 Million Naira To The University

The Visitor to the Nasarawa State University, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A Sule, has called on stakeholders and lovers of education to join hands with the state government in its vision of transforming the University into a world class institution.
Gov. Sule made the call on Saturday 14th September, 2019 at the 2nd Stakeholders Meeting of the University in Keffi.
He eulogised the contributions of the founding fathers, past and present leadership of the University for their exceptional dedication toward making the institution one of the best public universities in Nigeria.
He noted that University education is capital intensive and needs the support of private and corporate individuals to help make the institution a truly 21st century citadel of excellence.
On the proposed establishment of Faculty Engineering and College of Medicine, the Visitor made a personal donation of 20 million Naira to ensure that the projects kick off smoothly.
Earlier the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, informed the stakeholders of the desperate need of the University for financial and infrastructural intervention especially with the growing need for university education and the burden of increasing pressure on the institution.
The Vice Chancellor said all is set for commencement of admission into the proposed new programme in the 2020/2021 Academic Session.
Both the Chancellor, HRH Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III and the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Adamu Baikie, spoke in support of urgent intervention to ensure that the University meets up with the mandate for which it was established.
