Governor AL-Makura Keeps To Promise: Begins Disbursement Of Scholarship Funds (Photos)

The Nasarawa State Government has fully commenced payment of scholarship fund to all students of Nasarawa state who applied and registered for the scholarship programme. The distribution exercise which is in three (3) batches , batches A, B and C commenced with batch A which include Keffi, Akwanga and Lafia zones starting from 2nd to 10th May 2017.

Our reporter visited the Keffi zone where Nasarawa State University was used as the distribution center for all 200 level students of all Departments of Nasarawa State University, Keffi; All students of Nasarawa State School of Health; Keffi National Diploma II students and Federal polytechnic, Nasarawa has been scheduled to hold from 2nd to 4th May 2017.

Present at the disbursement centre was the Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Scholarship Board, Sulaiman Abdulwahab Sulaiman closely monitoring the process, ‘so far so good, this is the second day of distribution and we have not encountered any challenge as students have been in their best behaviours’. He added that student should continue to exercise more patience as the state has their best interest at heart.
The SSA to the Nasarawa State Governor on Students Matters & NGOs, Hon. Samuel Akala also expressed satisfaction in the way and manner students conducted themselves. Although he added that there were cases of students who registered but did not attended the screening exercise but showed up at the collection centers.

Speaking to our correspondence from NSUK the NASSA President Com. Umar Ibrahim expressed satisfaction at way and manner the exercise is being conducted. ‘As you can see the exercise has been going smoothly, no chaos and there has been no complaints of any missing card.’

The president who was there with all his executive members assured the general public that they have been on ground to monitor the process. ‘All of the NASSA executives are stationed at every distribution point, we were able to count the total number of card that are brought every day, we know how many that were disbursed and how many remaining’. He assured.

The disbursement process was received by students with excitement as they were seen in queues patiently waiting to be attended to. Isiaku a 300 level students thanked the Nasarawa State Government for this support. ‘We thank the governor for this and pray that God should also continue to provide for him’. He prayed.
