VC, Staff, Students Laud Registrar, Bursar at Valedictory Lecture

It was showers of encomium, commendations and best wishes for the duo, Alhaji Dalhatu Mamman and Mr. Stephen Azizi, outgoing Registrar and Bursar respectively, at the farewell ceremony and valedictory lecture held in their honour on Wednesday at the Assembly Hall of Nasarawa State University, Keffi. 

The venue of the event was filled to capacity as members of the University community, friends, well-wishers and family members came in their numbers to join in celebrating the Principal Officers who are bowing out of the University having served for ten years since 2007. 
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma, in his opening address, remarked the cordial relationship that existed between them and maintained that his job as the Vice Chancellor was made easy by the professionalism, hardwork and dedication to duty of both Alhaji Mamman and Mr. Azizi. Professor Mainoma while wishing them a blossoming future endeavours, insisted that he “sincerely enjoyed working with them”. 

Earlier, the Chairman of the Organising Committee and Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Grace Pennap, described the event as an “epoch making” one owing to its significance, especially in appreciating the exceptional services rendered to the University by these long serving officials, noting that it was the first of its kind. She thanked the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mainoma, for putting up such a thoughtful initiative that can only stream from a good heart in appreciation of those who have helped in shaping, steadying and uplifting the standard of the young University. 

Speaking on behalf of the Committee of Deans and Academic Directors, the Dean of Post-Graduate School Professor SAS Aruwa, reminisced the periods he spent with the outgoing officials as both congenital and professional, and praised the two men while praying for a more successful future for them. 
Others who spoke at event, including Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Nghargbu K’tso, that of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, Mr. Zubairu Adamu, all wished the outgoing Registrar and the Bursar better future endeavours. Representives from the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, National Association of Technology Staff, NATS all registered heartwarming messages in appreciation of the personalities of the Registrar and the Bursar.
