NSUK Strike Update: 45 Lecturers Have Left NSUK

A source who is a Professor in the Faculty of Social Science of Nasarawa State University, Keffi has revealed that not less than 45 lecturers have left the institution since it began having various internal issues leading to its shutdown.
.
The source who spoke to NSUK CampusWatch on the account of lingering issues which have bedevilled the institution the last few months said that these lecturers who have recently quit their jobs spread across the six faculties of the main campus, Keffi.
.
He said that the reason for this sad development is not unrelated to the impasse between the NSUK ASUU and Governing Council of the university, which has made them to seek for work elsewhere.
.
NSUK CampusWatch had exclusively reported about the resignation of a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication and a Professor in Natural and Applied Science faculty in the institution; a situation which has called for concern of the appropriate body in nipping in the bud the recent issue that has caused series of strike action embarked upon by the lecturers of the university.
.
The lecturers of the university are currently observing a "no-work-no-pay" industrial action to press home the demand of their three months salary arrears, accumulated during the initial strike action which hit the institution on March 7the, 2016 and was ended on May 31st, 2016, with a promise which was reneged upon by the governing council of the university to pay them their salaries.
