Emir of Keffi not happy about ongoing NSUK ASUU strike.

In its commitment to see an urgent end to the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Nasarawa State University Chapter, the Association of Departmental Presidents, ADP, on Thursday paid a visit to the Chancellor of NSUK and Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Muhammad Chindo III in his palace in Keffi.

The Emir commended the effort of the students in resolving the current problem and frowned that ASUU has rebuffed all entreaties to suspend the strike, thereby unnecessarily delaying the graduation of the students.

The ADP which was led by its Acting Secretary and President of Psychology, Comrade Abari Moses expressed the feelings of the students to the royal father and they pleaded with him to intervene in the situation.

The royal father in his response, who was once a member of ASUU expressed his displeasure with ASUU and the strike action.

He told ADP how he invited ASUU before they embarked on the strike and tried to reason with them but all to no avail.

The Emir said the union should rather think of ways to contribute to society rather than try to hinder certain development.

After taking his time to discuss with the students, the Emir commended the effort of the students and their passionate desire toward learning.

He assured them that efforts are been made to resolve the strike and in no distant time the story will be different and positive.

Meanwhile, ADP will be meeting with the Emir of Lafia and the Chairman of Governing Council of NSUK on date that is yet to be determined.

We urge all students to remain calm as we know you are agitated.

"We consult, we consolidate, before we confront".

And when its time to confront, you will have your moment. But for now please exercise more patience and continue praying.
